Fontstitch, by DoodleAlphabetArt, sells digital machine embroidery fonts. The seller is Assaka Abdou. You can buy as a guest. An account is optional, and is only created if you register or continue with Google.

Checkout

To buy, you enter your name and the email address where the files should be sent. Those two details are used only to process the purchase and to email the fonts you paid for. They are not sold. They are not given to advertisers. They are not added to the newsletter unless you subscribe separately.

The shop then stores the name, the email, the PayPal order id, the fonts, the amount, the currency, the order status, any discount code, and a private download token. It does not store your card number. Card details are entered on PayPal, not on this site.

After PayPal confirms the payment, the files are emailed to the address you entered. The download links in that email stay available. Do not publish them. A starter-font link from the newsletter also stays available. A code that covers the full price works for 7 days.

PayPal

PayPal takes the payment under its own privacy statement, as a separate organisation. The shop uses PayPal’s confirmation to match the order and the amount. The PayPal script loads only on the checkout page, after you have entered your name and email and agreed to immediate delivery.

Accounts

If you create an account, the shop stores your email, a one-way password hash when you choose a password, the sign-in method, and the time you confirmed the email. A confirmation link and, if you ask, a password-reset link are emailed to that address. Google sign-in stores the Google account id needed to recognise you. It does not store your Google password. Favorites and the fonts in your cart are stored with that account so they can follow you to another device. The first time you save a favorite, one code is emailed about 12 hours later, after you have had time to save any other fonts. It adds 5 points to the usual discount and works for 14 days. It is not sent again. If a signed-in cart is left unfinished, the shop may email that address one discount code after a period of inactivity. A signed cookie named fs_customer keeps you signed in for 30 days. Sign out removes that cookie from this browser. You can ask for the account, the favorites, and the saved cart to be deleted by writing to sales@fontstitch.com.

Newsletter

The newsletter is separate from a purchase. If you subscribe, the shop stores that email, the page you signed up from, the time, and whether you confirmed or unsubscribed. Messages are sent from sales@fontstitch.com. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter email. That address is not sold.

Visitors and cookies

The studio counts how many times pages are opened, and which country the connection came from. The IP address is not stored. If you accept optional cookies, a random number is stored in this browser so the studio can tell a new visitor from someone who came back on another day. For those visits the studio also stores the time, the page path, and the website you came from, tied to that random number. That number is not your name. Rejecting the optional choice stops the random number and the page-by-page list. Page totals and country totals are still counted. After the owner signs in to the studio, the owner’s own browsing on that site is left out of these counts. The cookie policy describes the banner cookie.

The host that runs the site may keep ordinary connection logs, such as an IP address, the time, and the page requested, in order to operate and protect the service. This shop does not use those logs for advertising and does not sell visitor information.

Studio

The studio passphrase is checked on the server. A signed cookie named hoop_studio is set only after the owner signs in. The PayPal secret stays on the server.

How long it is kept

The order record is kept so your download links keep working. An account, its favorites, and its saved cart are kept until you ask for them to be deleted, or until you delete the account by writing to the shop. You can ask for access, correction, or deletion by writing to sales@fontstitch.com. If the order is deleted, the download links stop. Newsletter records are deleted when you ask, or when you unsubscribe.

Asking about your data

If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority. Contact sales@fontstitch.com. A postal address is not published on this site.
